Frequently Asked Questions

The following suggestions will help prolong the life of your Beautyrest mattress:

  • Using a mattress protector will help avoid stains, which are not covered by the warranty.
  • Rotate your mattress to promote even wear.
  • Use a Besutyrest matching bed base to support your mattress evenly.

In today's plusher mattresses, state-of-the-art foams and fibres conform to the shape of your body, to relieve pressure points and provide a more restful night's sleep. If you sleep in the same spot night after night, the fibres and foams will naturally conform to the shape of your body. You can reduce this by rotating your mattress.

The sizes available vary between models and include:

  • Single - 91 x 188cm
  • Long Single - 91 x 203cm
  • King Single - 107 x 203cm
  • Double - 137 x 188cm
  • Queen - 153 x 203cm
  • King - 167 x 203cm
  • Super King - 183 x 203cm
  • Californian King - 203 x 203cm

A single-sided mattress doesn't need to be flipped.

Rotating your mattress will redistribute the comfort layers, and this will maximize wear. All Beautyrest mattresses are single-sided.

In today's modern mattresses, the support comes from the core which includes foam, pockets springs and innerspring in varying combinations.

The comfort layers determine the surface "feel" and is made up of a differing foam types and/or pillow top fibre to create different feels and temperature regulation properties.

We recommend that you talk to your Beautyrest Bedding Specialist to determine what combination of core and comfort layers are right for you.

Keep in mind, you spend one-third of your life in bed, so you should buy the best bed you can afford. At what amounts to a few cents per night, it's an important investment in your health and well-being.

Most major sheet manufacturers sell "deep drop" sheets that will fit the plusher Beautyrest mattresses.

If you've owned your mattress for more than 10 years, it's time for a new mattress. Other signs that you might need a new mattress include:

  • You wake up with aches and pains
  • You sleep better on other beds (such as in a hotel)
  • Your mattress shows visible signs of overuse (it sags, has lumps, the interior is exposed, etc.)
  • You and your partner roll into each other on your current mattress
  • Mattress edges aren't supportive anymore
  • Mattress and base make noise when you move around
  • Your current mattress is more than 7-10 years old.

Yes, sleep position matters in terms of which pressure points are affected during sleep, as well as how the spine is supported.

Because each individual sleeper is different, the only way to determine which mattress and comfort level works best for your sleep position is to test out the different mattresses in the store. It is important to lie on the mattress how you normally sleep and test for at least 10 minutes to get a good indication of what mattress is best suited to you.
